Cress, Greg Wallace and a nice drawing of a goose.

It's been a fair while since my last waffle portion.  In that time, I have been working harder to keep busy.  I have been told several times that when you are busy, the mind is not able to focus on worries.

Apparently, books and doctors state that the mind can only truly focus on one thing at any one time.  Keeping busy then, reduces the space in the mind for fizzing worries and anxiety.  And so, one of the things I have begun to do is grow veg.  Not too exciting for most people probably, but it is something pretty sedate and as I have been saying in previous posts small steps eventually make big changes.  The first thing I grew was cress for our tortoise.  He ate it, and didn't complain. But he can't talk, maybe if he did, he would complain it was a little lacking in moisture.  He might be a bit like a tortoise version of Greg Wallace of off Masterchef.

I digress.

The thing with anxiety is that sometimes I find myself in fear of the fear itself.  Waiting for the next anxiety attack.  The next low.  It's a vicious circle.  You don't want them to come, but find yourself sitting there thinking, waiting, rigid with worry.  But by removing a part of this circle and making it a lovely flat neat line, or a nice drawing of a goose.

At the moment, keeping the mind out of the vicious circle appears to be working.

Now, to work on that nice drawing of a goose.
